FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
QUESTION: How Much Does it Cost to Adopt an Iguana from
Raptor Rescue?
ANSWER: If you prove you are dedicated to giving the animal a loving and proper new home, we
do not charge. You must prove you are dedicated by buying a NEW UVB bulb and bringing it on
adoption day to assure us the iguana will have UVB, then participate in an iguana care discussion
so we can teach you the basics of iguana care and answer any questions you may have prior to
adoption.
* We are not interested in money, we are interesting in finding people who genuinely love and understand this creature and can commit to giving an iguana a good life.
Donations are always appreciated.
QUESTION: What happens if I adopt an iguana and I decide an iguana is not the right pet for me?
ANSWER: You are always encouraged to bring the iguana back to the shelter if you need to, with no questions asked. Also, if you find that you cannot bond with a particular iguana and would like to try bonding with another, you can bring him or her back and select a different iguana. Remember, iguanas are NOT going to be cuddly like cats or dogs, but they can and do bond with their keepers in their own special ways and iguana ownership can be very rewarding if approached properly.
QUESTION: How do I get started with the adoption process?
ANSWER: First, check out the iguanas we currently have up for adoption
